As we all know, ROHS certification is a certification to test whether product materials are environmentally friendly and toxic substances exceed the standard. At present, the new test items of ROHS certification have been updated to 10 items. Some customers will call metal RoHS 4 items RoHS 1.0 and non-metal 6 items RoHS 2.0. Therefore, after updating to 10 items, many customers will call RoHS 3.0 0. In fact, there is only RoHS 2.0 certification, because RoHS 1.0 is tested for 6 items, but metal is 4 items and non-metal is 6 items. Of course, now non-metal is tested for RoHS 10 items. It is hereby declared!
Coverage of RoHS Directive
The products covered by ROHS directive mainly include: daily household appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, etc; Home appliances, such as audio, video products, DVD, CD, TV receiver, it products, digital products, communication products, etc; Electric tools, electric electronic toys, medical electrical equipment; It and telecommunications equipment and consumer goods, such as radios, televisions, cameras and sound systems.
RoHS directive covers not only the whole machine products, but also the parts, raw materials and packaging used in the production of the whole machine, which is related to the whole production chain.
Harm of six toxic substances restricted by RoHS to human body
Lead (PB): lead absorbed into the body, regardless of any form of compound, will cause serious poisoning, affect the development of intelligence and bone, cause dyspepsia and endocrine disorders, lead to anemia, hypertension and arrhythmia, and damage renal function and immune function. The main symptoms are: anemia, weakness, local abdominal pain, paralysis, numbness of wrist, foot and wrist, etc.
Mercury (Hg): Mercury is mercury, which can evaporate at room temperature. Inhalation of a little mercury vapor will cause poisoning symptoms. Mercury and its compounds can invade human body through respiratory tract, skin or digestive tract. When Mercury enters the human body, it can damage the internal organs, resulting in neurotoxicity and deep tissue lesions.
Cadmium (GD): cadmium is highly toxic. If it is retained in the body, it will cause neurological disorders.
Hexavalent chromium (Cr6 +): entering the human body in the form of steam or dust will cause perforation of nasal septum. Strong toxicity, direct contact will cause dermatitis. If the drinking water exceeds 400 times the standard, it will produce symptoms such as quarrel erosion, diarrhea and indigestion. In severe cases, it may produce transient shock.
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) are collectively referred to as 20 suspected carcinogens and potential carcinogens.
ROHS certification mode
A. Chemical detection
The chemical detection is based on each homogeneous sampling, pretreatment, digestion and test, and the data is accurate
B. XRF scanning total Pb, CD, Hg, Cr, br;
XRF scanning is the abstract definition of sample material by XRF scanner to judge whether it contains five elements. If the sample composition is uneven, it will be invalid;
C. Chemical detection + XRF scanning;
For the ROHS test of finished products of customers, multiple homogeneous tests are split. In order to save costs, XRF scan is used to judge yes
If there is no element, test according to the chemical detection process if there is data.
D. RoHS report integration;
When the customer can provide the RoHS report of each homogeneous material in the finished product, it can be integrated into the finished product RoHS report;
E. RoHS certificate
Each homogeneous material of the product complies with ROHS standard, and RoHS certificate can be issued.
F、ROHS logo
Incorporate RoHS compliance of electronic and electrical equipment into CE mark requirements.
However, at present, ROHS is generally directly displayed on the table
ROHS certification exemption
ROHS certification does not require all electronic products to meet the requirements of the directive on the content of several toxic and harmful substances, because some products may contain a large amount of mercury or lead due to process requirements, which makes the EU also stipulate that some products can be exempted from ROHS testing. The following are some EU exempted products:
1. The mercury content in compact fluorescent lamps shall not exceed 5 mg / lamp;
2. The mercury content in straight fluorescent lamps for general purposes shall not exceed:
-10 mg / lamp in salt phosphate straight fluorescent lamp
-5 mg / lamp in triphosphate straight fluorescent lamp with normal service life
-8 mg / lamp in triphosphate straight fluorescent lamp with long service life
3. Mercury content in straight fluorescent lamps for special purposes;
4. Mercury content in other lamps not specifically mentioned in this Annex;
5. Lead content in the glass of cathode ray tubes, electronic components and fluorescent tubes;
6. The lead content of alloy elements in steel is less than 0.35%, the lead content of alloy elements in aluminum is less than 0.4%, and the lead content of alloy elements in copper is less than 4%;
7. - lead in high melting temperature solder (i.e. lead content in tin lead solder alloy exceeds 85%);
--Lead in solders for servers, memory and storage array systems; Lead in solder in network infrastructure equipment for switching, signaling and transmission, and telecommunications network management;
--Lead in electronic ceramic components (e.g. piezoelectric ceramics);
Necessity of ROHS testing
ROHS testing can protect people's health and reduce the infringement of harmful substances. At the same time, ROHS testing is also an optimization policy. It is beneficial both from the perspective of consumers and manufacturers. From the perspective of consumers, ROHS testing can prove that their products are safe and environmentally friendly. For manufacturers, this ROHS test report is like their own product advertisement. It is equivalent to that their products have quality assurance, and the quality of products can be recognized by EU consumers.
With the development of international trend, ROHS detection has become a key factor to measure the quality of electronic and electrical products and the embodiment of enterprise competitive advantage. Therefore, ROHS detection of electronic and electrical products is of great significance.
