Drop test is usually used to simulate the free drop that products may suffer during handling, and to investigate the ability of products to resist accidental impact, which is divided into packaging drop and bare metal drop. Bare metal drop mainly considers the ability of the product to resist accidental drop impact during normal use. Package drop can also reflect the protection ability of the package to the product when it is vertically dropped. Generally, the falling height is mostly based on the product weight and the possible falling probability as the reference standard. The falling surface should be a smooth and hard rigid surface made of concrete or steel (if there are special requirements, it should be determined by the product specification or customer test specification).
1、 Test procedure
Drop test procedures can generally refer to the following steps:
1. Preparation of samples before testing.
2. Before the test, the function, safety and appearance of the product must be tested, and the drop test can be carried out only after it is confirmed to be normal.
3. The samples shall be packed according to the specified method (refer to the production instruction or specification), and the accessories shall not be missed.
4. If there are special requirements for sealing the box (such as tape), it shall be carried out according to the requirements. If there are no special requirements, the box shall be sealed with 2-inch transparent adhesive tape, and the external card through box shall be sealed with 3-inch transparent adhesive tape.
5. The test samples shall not be less than 2 full boxes or 4 pcs of finished products.
6. Drop sequence.
7. Bottom corner of seam edge.
2、 Operation process
1. Wiring: connect the attached power line to the three-phase power supply and grounding, connect the control box and the tester with the attached connecting line according to the plug adaptation, and try to run the rising / falling command. (if you press the up key but run down or press the down key but run up during trial operation, you only need to change the number of phases at the power supply.
2. Drop height adjustment: turn on the host power, set the height required for the test (the method is as follows), and press the up key to make it reach the set height; If it stops halfway, the reverse operation command can be executed only after it reaches the set height;
3. Place the measured object on the worktable and fix it with a fixing rod;
4. Press the up key to lift the measured object to the set height;
5. Press the drop key to make the worktable instantly separate from the measured object, and the measured object makes free drop movement;
6. Press the reset key to restore the worktable to the working state;
7. If the test is repeated, repeat the above steps;
8. After the test: press the lower key to make the worktable operate to the lowest position and turn off the power key.
3、 Drop height
There are special national standards for drop test. The drop mode is a free falling body with one corner, three sides and six sides, and the drop height is determined according to the product weight. Weight (LBS) / (kg) falling height (inches) / (CM) of goods loaded in 90cm, 76cm and 65cm grades
1~20.99lbs(0.45~9.54kg)30in/(76.20cm)
21~40.99lbs(9.55~18.63kg)24in/(60.96cm)
41~60.99lbs(18.64~27.72kg)18in/(45.72cm)
61~100lbs(27.73~45.45kg)12in/(30.48cm)
4、 Purpose of drop test
Drop test is to test the ability of products to resist throwing and falling in the process of use. The method of releasing the test sample shall enable the test sample to fall freely from the suspended position, and the interference shall be minimized during release.
5、 Method standard
