Waterproof test is applicable to electrical and electronic products that may suffer from flushing during transportation, storage or use. Relevant specifications shall specify whether electrical and electronic products must work normally during the test and can withstand flushing conditions and remain intact. In daily life, electronic and electrical products have certain dustproof and waterproof ability. Dustproof test is often used to test the protection ability of electronic and electrical products in micro dust environment. The higher the protection ability, the less damage caused by bad external environmental factors to electronic products. The sealing ability of equipment is very important to ensure the safe operation and service life of equipment. Waterproof test is often used for the operation of electrical and electronic products and materials under flushing conditions. The product may be invaded by external moisture during transportation, storage and use, resulting in damage to the product.
Electronic products may come into contact with moisture during use. If they are not waterproof, the internal parts or circuit boards will be eroded by moisture, and their service life will not be high. In addition, small impurities will also enter the interior of electronic products and affect their normal operation. The waterproof test of electronic products can be carried out by using waterproof testing machine equipment or air tightness tester. Appropriate methods shall be adopted according to whether the products have air holes. For the waterproof test of products with air holes, the negative pressure method, that is, vacuum pumping method, is generally used to check whether the products have leakage; For products without air holes, it is generally necessary to make a tool for sealing the upper and lower closed inner cavity, put the product in, and then use the positive pressure method to check whether the product has leakage.
There are waterproof test requirements for portable, outdoor and automotive electronics, and corresponding test requirements are formulated internationally, whether IEC, mil, ETSI or SAE.
The waterproof test includes the second characteristic number of 1 to 8, that is, the protection grade code is ipx1 to ipx8.

Water spraying test method: A. pendulum tube water spraying test equipment: pendulum tube water spraying splash test device (see 2.14 of this book for device graphics and test methods) sample placement: select a pendulum tube with appropriate radius, make the height of the sample table at the position of the diameter of the pendulum tube, place the sample on the sample table, make the distance from its top to the sample spray port no more than 200mm, and the sample table does not rotate. Test conditions: the water flow is calculated according to the number of spray holes of the swing pipe, and each hole is 0.07 L / min. When spraying water, the water spray from the water spray hole in the 60 ° arc section on both sides of the midpoint of the swing pipe is sprayed to the sample. Test conditions: the size shall be such that the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface shall be at least 1m after the sample is put into the immersion tank. The distance from the top of the specimen to the water surface shall be at least 0.15 M. Test time: 30 min.
