Reliability testing is a related reliability test conducted by placing test samples in artificially simulated storage, transportation, and working environments, collectively known as environmental testing. It assesses the adaptability of various products under various environmental conditions (vibration, impact, centrifugation, temperature, thermal shock, tidal heat, salt spray, low air pressure, etc.), and reliability testing is also one of the important test methods for evaluating product reliability.
It is generally divided into these categories:
Reliability testing classification: climate environment testing, mechanical environment testing, design verification testing, etc.
What are the routine testing items for environment and reliability?
(1) Temperature and humidity test
The temperature and humidity test is applicable to products that may be used in warm and humid environments. For plastic materials, PCBs, PCBA porous materials, or finished products, various materials have different physical reactions to temperature and moisture, and the effects of temperature are mostly plastic deformation or product overheating or poor low-temperature startup. Porous materials may exhibit surface moisture adsorption, infiltration, and condensation due to the capillary effect in humid environments, and may experience product failure in low-temperature environments due to the accumulation of static charges.

(2) High acceleration life test
HALT is High Accelerated Life Testing, which is a method of applying stepped stress to the test object and identifying product defects, operating design margins, and structural strength limits in the early stages. The shortcomings exposed by HALT in the test sample involve aspects such as circuit design, process, components, and structure.
Test items: low-temperature step stress test, high-temperature step stress test, rapid thermal cycle test, vibration step stress test, comprehensive stress test.
(3) UV aging test
The UV aging testing machine does not simulate full spectrum sunlight, but it simulates the destructive effect of sunlight. By controlling the main radiation of fluorescent tubes in the ultraviolet band of the solar spectrum. The experimental equipment uses ultraviolet fluorescent lamps to simulate sunlight, and can also simulate the influence of moisture through condensation or spraying. Used to evaluate changes in color, gloss, cracking, foaming, catalysis, oxidation, and other aspects of materials.

(4) Salt spray test
Salt spray corrosion is a common and destructive atmospheric corrosion, mainly using the artificial simulated salt spray environmental conditions created by salt spray testing equipment to assess the corrosion resistance of products or metal materials in environmental tests. It is divided into two categories, one is natural environment exposure test, and the other is artificial accelerated simulated salt spray environment test.
Test items: neutral salt spray test, acetate spray test, copper salt accelerated acetate spray test, and comprehensive salt spray test.

(5) Xenon lamp aging test
Sunlight is a major factor causing degradation of many materials, including plastics, textiles, coatings, and other organic materials. Xenon lamp testing uses xenon lamps to simulate the destructive effect of full spectrum sunlight, and sprays to simulate the effects of rain, dew, exposure to sunlight, and darkness. Simulate the changes that occur when materials are exposed to sunlight in different environments.

(6) Vibration, impact collision, drop test
① Vibration test
Vibration testing simulates a series of vibration phenomena, tests whether the product can withstand the vibration environment during transportation or use during its life cycle, and also determines the required standards for product design and function.
Test standards: Sinusoidal vibration GB/T2423.10, GB/T4857.1, GB/T4857.7, ISO8318, ISO2247, IEC60068-2-6, EN60068-2-6; Random vibration GB/T2423.56 and IEC60068-2-64.
② Impact collision test
Impact is a sudden and intense release of impact force, energy benefit conversion, and energy disc transmission. The duration of the impact is brief, and the process of impact is completed in one go without periodicity.
Test standards: Impact testing GB/T2423.5, GB/T2425.6, IEC60068-2-27; Collision test GB/T4857.20.
③ Drop test
The drop test is a process that specifies that a product falls from a certain height to the test surface, confirming the adaptability of the product to being dropped due to rough handling during transportation.
Test standards: GB/T2423.8, IEC60068-2-31.
(7) Three comprehensive tests
Comprehensive environmental testing is a combination of two environmental stresses, and the effect of the comprehensive environment can more realistically and practically reflect the performance of the product during on-site use, which can better expose the shortcomings of the product.
Reference standards: GB/T2423.35 and GB/T2423.36.
(8) Gas corrosion test
Most products are used in the atmosphere, and most corrosion occurs in the atmosphere, which contains corrosive components and factors such as oxygen, humidity, temperature changes, and pollutants.
