Non destructive testing refers to a detection method that obtains information on the structure, performance, defects, and other aspects of the tested object by applying various physical, chemical, acoustic, electromagnetic and other detection methods without damaging it. Non destructive testing is widely used in industrial production, scientific research, quality testing, and other fields. So, what inspection items do non-destructive tests include? Let's introduce them one by one.

1. Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Ultrasonic testing is the use of the characteristics of ultrasonic propagation within the tested object to detect internal defects and structures in materials. By using an ultrasonic probe to emit ultrasonic waves into the interior of the tested object, when ultrasonic waves encounter defects or interfaces inside the material, reflection, refraction, scattering, and other phenomena will occur. By receiving ultrasonic signals, the internal structure of the material can be analyzed.

2. Radiographic Testing (RT): Radiographic testing is the use of X-rays or gamma rays to penetrate the tested object and detect and measure defects in materials. Through phenomena such as absorption, scattering, and transmission of rays, defects and structures inside materials can be detected.

3. Eddy Current Testing (ET): Eddy current testing is the use of alternating current electromagnetic fields to induce disturbances in the tested object, detecting surface defects and material properties of materials. By introducing alternating current into the probe, an alternating magnetic field is generated. When the probe contacts the surface of the tested object, eddy currents are generated inside the object and disturb the magnetic field. By detecting changes in eddy currents, defects and material properties on the material surface can be detected.

4. Magnetic Particle Testing (MT): Magnetic particle testing is the use of changes in the surface magnetic field of ferromagnetic materials to detect surface defects. By coating magnetic powder on the surface of the tested object, when there is a magnetic field discontinuity on the surface of the tested object, the magnetic powder will gather at the defect, forming a visible accumulation of magnetic particles, thus detecting defects on the material surface.

5. Penetrant Testing (PT): PT is the use of the principle of liquid permeability to detect surface cracks and defects in materials. By applying liquid penetrant to the surface of the tested object, the penetrant will enter the defects on the material surface, forming visible signs of liquid penetration, thereby detecting the defects on the material surface.

The above is an introduction to non-destructive testing. If you have any needs in this regard, please feel free to consult Chuangxin Testing! Non destructive testing is a very important detection method that can help us detect defects, cracks, and other issues in the tested object in a timely manner, thereby ensuring the smooth progress of production, scientific research, quality testing, and other work.
