Metal welding is a relatively technical process, so it is often difficult to operate. During low-temperature welding construction, attention shall be paid to temperature, welding materials, preheating, welding seam and cooling. At low temperature, the surface of weldment is easy to frost and slide, which brings difficulties to welding operation. Therefore, the following links should be paid close attention to when using welding tools to ensure that the welding process is completed with high quality under low temperature environment.
Low temperature welding tools:
1. Soldering iron
Soldering iron is a necessary tool for welding, which is used to raise temperature to melt tin. The soldering iron consists of a heating core, an insulating handle and a soldering iron head. After electricity passes through the current, the resistance heating element generates heat. The portable soldering iron can be heated by a small tank of gas, usually with a catalytic heater instead of a flame. Soldering iron is often used for installation, maintenance and a small amount of production work on electronic assembly. Large scale production lines use other welding methods. Large soldering iron can be used to weld thin metal objects. The soldering iron can be divided into low-temperature soldering iron, high-temperature soldering iron and thermostatic soldering iron. The price varies according to the performance.
2. Tin furnace
Tin furnace is a small, temperature controlled furnace or container with a bell mouth, which is used to apply tin to the wire and tin to the soldering head. It is especially useful to use a tin furnace to melt tin, dip solder small circuit boards, apply tin to wires, and re apply tin to soldering iron heads. Tin furnaces are particularly useful in small-scale work where reliable temperature control is required.
3. Soldering tin
Solder materials are indispensable in the production and maintenance of the electronic industry. Generally speaking, common solder materials include tin lead alloy solder, antimony solder, cadmium solder, silver solder, and copper solder. The main products of solder are divided into three categories: solder wire, solder rod and solder paste. It is applicable to all kinds of electronic welding, manual welding, wave soldering, reflow soldering and other processes.
4. Tin absorbing wire
For desoldering. Tin absorbing wire is a special maintenance tool. Its appearance greatly reduces the rework/repair time of electronic products, and greatly reduces the risk of thermal damage to circuit boards. Precise geometric braiding design ensures maximum surface tension and tin absorption capacity.
5. Flux
A chemical substance that can help and promote the welding process in the welding process, and has a protective effect and prevents oxidation reaction.
6. Hot air gun
The hot air gun is mainly a tool that uses the hot air blown by the gun core of the heating resistance wire to weld and remove the components. According to the working principle of the hot air gun, the main part of the hot air gun control circuit shall include temperature signal amplification circuit, comparison circuit, silicon controlled control circuit, sensor, wind control circuit, etc. The temperature of the hot air gun is usually between 100 ° C and 550 ° C, and some can reach 760 ° C.
Precautions for low temperature welding:
1. Ambient temperature: It is recommended to control the low temperature welding environment at - 15~0 ℃. If the temperature is too low, welding operation shall be stopped. If conditions are limited, construction must be carried out at low temperature. It is recommended to set insulation shed to ensure that the welding environment temperature can meet the welding requirements.
2. Welding material management: check whether the welding wire is in good condition before use, and take moisture-proof measures. The shielding gas shall be strictly controlled and its purity shall not be lower than 99.5%. In low temperature environment, check whether the cylinder mouth is blocked or frozen to ensure the smooth and stable use of protective gas.
3. Preheating before welding: preheating operation shall be carried out for the welding seam before welding, and the temperature of the welding seam shall be properly raised, even if necessary, the method of accompanying preheating can be used. The preheating temperature range is recommended to be between 80 ℃ and 150 ℃. The far-infrared thermometer can be used to measure the temperature for many times. When measuring the temperature, the temperature measuring point should be set at 75mm from the edge of the groove.
4. Weld length: Generally speaking, the weld lead out length of manual/gas shielded arc welding shall be greater than 25mm. In case of non manual arc welding, the lead out length of the weld shall be greater than 80mm.
5. Slow cooling after welding: the temperature fluctuates greatly in recent days. After welding is completed in a low temperature environment, the temperature drop rate of the weld shall be controlled to slow the cooling of the weld. The cooling rate shall be less than 10 ℃ per minute.
